A LIFETIME
OF SERVICE.
A FUTURE
FOR OAKLAND.

Julius Robinson has spent more than four decades bringing capital, opportunity, and communities together.
Now he’s ready to bring that experience to City Hall.

FROM WATTS TO
A LIFE OF PURPOSE.

Julius Robinson's story begins in Watts, California - a community that taught him early about resilience, responsibility, and the importance of having leaders who understand the realities people face every day.

Those experiences helped shape the way Julius sees leadership today: not as a title, but as a responsibility to listen, bring people together, solve problems, and make sure government works for the people it is meant to serve.

Now, Julius is running for Mayor of Oakland because he believes this city deserves leadership that is focused, accountable, accessible, and prepared to move Oakland forward.

Julius is running for mayor because Oakland's challenges require more than promises-they require focused, accountable leadership that delivers meaningful results.

Public safety, housing, homelessness, economic opportunity, clean neighborhoods, thriving small businesses, and trust in city government are all deeply connected. Moving Oakland forward requires a leader who understands the full picture while taking practical action that residents can see and feel in their own neighborhoods.

Julius believes Oakland can be safer, cleaner, and more welcoming. It can be a city where businesses have the support they need to grow, local government operates with greater transparency and accountability, and every resident feels included in Oakland's future.

This campaign is about turning Oakland's potential into real progress-and building a stronger city that works for everyone.

WHY I’M RUNNING

OAKLAND DESERVES

COMMUNITY VOICES

I have had the privilege of knowing Julius Robinson for 14 years, and I know him to be an extraordinary leader, mentor, and champion for dis-invested and under-estimated communities. As EVP of CRA at Union Bank/MUFG, Julius brought more than a title to the work—he brought accessibility, strategy, responsiveness, and a deep understanding that effective community banking begins with trust.

Julius understood how to ensure that reinvestment translated into real economic opportunity. Under his leadership, that commitment was demonstrated through innovative small-business lending, specialized mortgage programs that expanded pathways to homeownership, and philanthropic investments that strengthened community-based organizations and local economic development.

What has always distinguished Julius is his ability to listen, build authentic relationships, and bring institutional resources to the table to create meaningful impact. For many of us working in communities shaped by decades of redlining and disinvestment, Julius has been a trusted partner, an accessible power broker, and an admirable mentor. I am proud to count myself among the many community leaders who have benefited from his leadership, counsel, and unwavering belief in the potential of the communities we serve.

I have known Julius Robinson 15+ years through his impactful work in community and economic development where he is recognized as an industry leader with a broad range of experience connecting banks, non-profits, small businesses, regulators and local/Federal government to drive outcomes. Throughout that time, I have seen firsthand his unique ability to bring people together, build consensus, and turn ideas into meaningful action.

He understands the challenges facing the city because Oakland is his home, and he is deeply invested in its future. More importantly, he has the vision, experience, and leadership skills needed to create lasting positive change.

Julius leads with integrity, purpose, and an unwavering commitment to his community which should be important to the people and future of Oakland. Julius is the kind of leader who listens, collaborates, and gets things done. I am confident he will make a significant and enduring impact on Oakland.

The leader who turns inclusion into opportunity. He doesn’t just promise opportunity-he creates it.

Julius Robinson is the kind of leader Oakland needs—experienced, principled, and committed to transforming inclusion into economic opportunity.

As a minority- and woman-owned business leader, I experienced his impact firsthand. At Union Bank, Julius did more than champion supplier diversity—he ensured women and minority owned businesses, like ICE Safety Solutions gained access to capital, contracts, relationships, and influential rooms. During the pandemic, when many banks prioritized large companies, Julius helped ensure my business received critical PPP funding, protecting the company I had spent decades building.

My story demonstrates what is possible when leadership intentionally invests in minority- and women-owned businesses. These companies create jobs, strengthen neighborhoods, and reinvest in their communities—but they need equitable access to compete and grow.

Julius does not simply discuss economic inclusion; he creates pathways to prosperity. I trust his character, believe in his leadership, and wholeheartedly endorse
Julius Robinson for Mayor of Oakland.

I’ve known Julius for more than 20 years, much of that time as a community advocate working to create positive change in underserved communities. What distinguished Julius from many of his banking peers was his sincere effort to find common ground between the interests of the community and the institution he represented.

Even when we found ourselves on opposite sides of the table, Julius was never focused simply on winning for the bank. He worked to find balanced, practical solutions that respected the needs of both sides and could produce lasting results.

That experience shaped my respect for Julius. When he retired from banking, I encouraged him to consult with the Greenlining Institute, which I co-founded, because I valued his judgment, experience, and commitment to community.

Julius is someone I respect and trust. He brings the judgment, integrity, and collaborative leadership that effective public service requires. And, most critically, he provides successful management experience missing from too many public service leaders.

I have had the privilege of knowing Julius Robinson both professionally and personally, and he is one of the most extraordinary leaders I have encountered.

In 2018, when our Multicultural Women Executive Leadership Program was still an unproven idea, Julius was one of the first people to say yes. His belief in the vision and his sponsorship helped launch our inaugural cohort, which has since grown into a network of hundreds of graduates—executives, founders, professors, and public servants.

That is who Julius is. He sees possibility where others may not yet see it, and he invests in people and ideas with the potential to create lasting impact.

What distinguishes Julius most is his ability to bring people, institutions, and communities together around a shared purpose and then turn that collaboration into meaningful action. He listens, he connects, he follows through, and he never loses sight of the people behind the work.

I am deeply grateful for his leadership, partnership, and enduring commitment to community. Oakland deserves that same commitment, and I am proud to stand behind his candidacy for Mayor.
